Surrey, British Columbia, population 394,976 (2006), and is the province's second largest city after the city of Vancouver. Surrey is located 23 kilometres from Vancouver Centre, bordered by Delta on the west, Langley on the east, and the US Border (Blaine, WA) to the south. Across the Fraser River north is New Westminster, Port Moody, and Coquitlam BC.
Surrey offers beautiful urban forests, pristine beaches, championship golf courses and eco and agri-tourism opportunities. Surrey earned the nickname, 'the City of Parks' due to the fact there are 6,200 acres of parkland (600 parks and greenbelts and 277 km of hiking/biking trails and walkways).
The only major freeway within city limits is Highway 1, which passes through the north-eastern corner of the city.

Vancouver has a city-wide network of bicycle lanes and routes, you can take your bike with you on the bus, SkyTrain, SeaBus and West Coast Express, and there are bike lockers available at transit stations.
